the importance of thank you

Silent gratitude isn't much use to anyone. ~G.B. Stern

A thank you is most often the most genuine and sincere gesture someone can make to another.  One of the most disappointing things in life is to do something for someone, or to give something to someone you care for and not receive any thanks back.  A thank you does not have to be elaborate or time consuming.  If someone were to do something for me today, how could I thank them?

an email
a handwritten note (even something written on a napkin will do)
a text
a kind gesture in return
a phone call
the list goes on...get creative

A thank you is also ALWAYS appropriate.  A prompt and heartfelt thank you is the best!  You also don't need a gift or specific action for a thank you.  Have you ever thanked someone for just being a good friend?  I challenge everyone today to thank someone.  For?  How?  Why?  That's up to you...
