So, I'm engaged...now what?! {san antonio wedding planner}

It finally happened! He asked the YUGE question and you said yes!

You've called everyone in your phone,
put a picture of your ring on facebook,
changed your facebook status,
tweeted about changing your facebook status,
and gave your fiance a promise you won't even start talking wedding until...

Well, that last one usually flies right out the window!

Planning a wedding can be daunting and overwhelming, but it can be done! Think about it, people are getting every single day...and if they can do it, surely you can do it. Here are a few "first steps" for you to take post-engagement that will put you on the right track.

1. CALL your relatives and close friends. Don't rely on facebook, twitter, or email for sharing this exciting news with those you love the most.

2. Get your ring sized and insured! It's very easy to add a ring onto a renter's policy.

3. Set a "season + year." You don't need to nail down a date yet, but at least agree on a season and year for your wedding. You want to make sure you and your fiance are on the same page when it comes to the length of your engagement.

4. Be inspired! Subscribe to wedding blogs, read magazines, watch all the wedding tv shows! Don't be afraid to be immersed in it.  You only do this once, soak it all in.

5. Make a notebook. A place to keep all of your ideas, any contracts, etc...

6. Consider whether you would like to use a wedding planner. Then consider the extent of services you need. Maybe you need someone just to help you get started, someone just for "day-of" or someone to fully take hold of the reigns! Research your options well, and find a fit that's just right for you.

7. Start saving some mula...together.

8. Work on the monster...the guest list! So much depends on the guest list, so get this done as soon as possible.

9. Don't forget about your fiance! Plan a date night and do not talk about anything wedding-related.

10. Have fun!! Remember what this is all about, marrying the man you love.
