Julian Gold is one of the absolute trendiest places to go bridal dress shopping in San Antonio.  Upon entering the store you are immediately dazzled and taken away with an amazing variety of high end brands of shoes that are meticulously displayed. You are then ushered upstairs to a cozy nook where all of their jaw dropping dresses stylishly reside. From designers like Vera Wang to Lazaro, each bridal gown is unique and gorgeous in its own way. From intricate lace detailing to ruffles galore any bride will find the absolute perfect dress at Julian Gold.

We, at Country Sugar, had the privilege to speak to Ms. Barbie at Julian Gold and she gave us the latest scoop of what brides are looking at for Fall 2012.


CS: What designers do most brides gravitate towards when coming into Julian Gold?

JG: Most brides when walking into the store have a picture in their head of what their dream dress is and if they have done any research they usually mention Lazaro and Monique Lhuiller dresses. They also are looking for lace detailing and dresses with a more muted taupe sash with some soft, romantic beading. Mermaid or the fit and flare style are requested a lot.

CS: What kind of dress do you think is going to be the most popular trend for Fall 2012?

JG: Mermaid styles seem to be catching the bride’s eyes this season.

CS: What advice do you give brides when looking for a dress?

JG: Bridal dress shopping is supposed to be one of the most anticipated moments for any bride. I urge them to enjoy being a bride, enjoy trying on dresses, and don’t over think you choice. When you feel that you have fallen in love with a dress, it’s probably going to be the one you end up with. Also, the wedding planning process is about marriage. Enjoy it.

CS: What prices ranges can be found at Julian Gold?

JG: We have prices that can fit any bride’s budget. From $1,000 to 14,000.

CS: For the frugal brides, does Julian Gold ever offer discounts or give aways? If so, how often?

JG: We have a room full of sample dresses. All the time, all year round. Naturally these dresses are sold AS IS and are offered at a much more discounted price. We also have discounts during different part of the year.

CS: Do you offer in house alterations? If so, what is the usual time frame for such alterations?

JG: Yes. We offer alteration for our dresses and we usually recommend them to come in at least one month prior to the wedding day.

CS: How many fittings will a bride have?

JG: A bride usually has about 2-3 fittings.

CS: Approximately how many brides does Julian Gold have per year?

JG: We see many, many brides throughout the year. Per week we can have as many as 25-40 brides.
